Permanent residency, also known as landed immigrant status, is a legal status granted to individuals who are not citizens of Canada, but who have been granted the right to live and work in Canada indefinitely. Permanent residents are entitled to many of the same rights and privileges as Canadian citizens, including the right to work, study, and access healthcare.
There are many benefits to obtaining permanent residency in Canada. Permanent residents are able to live and work in Canada without having to worry about their visa expiring. They are also eligible to apply for Canadian citizenship after a certain amount of time has passed. Additionally, permanent residents have access to many of the same social programs and benefits as Canadian citizens.
